WineShopper Notes

On the TODAY Show a few months ago, wine expert Leslie Sbrocco called Light Horse Pinot "…one of the best values on the market. Period. It’s gorgeous." We couldn't agree more. This medium-bodied, well-balanced California Pinot is everything I'd want in a summer red. It's fresh and pure on the palate and goes with a wide range of food. Plus, let's be honest, it is fabulous on its own. Today's low price is just icing on the cake!

Wine Review Online
"I don't really come from the 'less is more' school of thought -- except when it comes to California Pinot Noir. This lovely wine fits that description, showing quite generous aroma and flavor, but showing it from a light, delicate platform with no overt sweetness. The fruit recalls both red and black cherries as well as wild strawberries, with almost no discernible oak and beautifully balanced acidity and tannins. This shows a level of purity and elegance that one would expect to ring up for two or three times the priced asked in this case. Terrific value here."

From Wine Enthusiast:
"One of the best Pinot Noirs available at this price, this boasts appealing raspberry, cola and pomegranate juice flavors. The texture is light and silky, while brisk acidity provides keen balance."

Winemaker's Notes

This deep garnet Pinot Noir showcases ripe cherry, strawberry and raspberry aromatics that commingle with anise, cinnamon and a hint of white pepper. Sumptuous red berry flavors blossom on the palate, while supple acidity and silken tannins contribute to the wine's innate elegance.
